Directed by Yoon Ji Hoon and Kim Na Young, “Bad Memory Eraser” promises a blend of romance, drama, and thrill. The series is written by Jung Eun Young, who has crafted a narrative that explores themes of identity, transformation, and the power of memory.
The premiere is scheduled for August 2 at 9:40 PM KST on MBN. It will be exclusive to viewers in Japan, North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and India and will be available on Rakuten Viki.
The Plot
“Bad Memory Eraser” revolves around Lee Goon (played by Jaejoong), a former tennis prodigy whose life takes an unexpected turn after using a memory eraser. The device not only wipes away his past but also rejuvenates his self-esteem and confidence. This transformation allows him to confront his fears and redefine his future.
Alongside this journey is his fabricated first love, Kyung Ju Yeon, portrayed by Jin Se Yeon. Ju Yeon, a psychiatrist at a brain research center, becomes an integral part of Goon’s new life, blending her intelligence with a quirky charm.
Kim Jaejoong’s Triumphant Return
Kim Jaejoong’s return to the drama scene is one of the most talked-about aspects of “Bad Memory Eraser.” Known for his versatile acting in dramas like “SPY,” “Triangle,” and “Dr. Jin,” Jaejoong’s hiatus has left fans eagerly waiting for his next project.
In ‘Bad Memory Eraser,’ Kim Jaejoong’s character, Lee Goon, undergoes a remarkable transformation from an injured athlete with shattered self-esteem to a confident and self-assured individual. His portrayal is expected to bring depth and nuance, reflecting his growth as an actor over the years.
Jin Se Yeon, who plays Kyung Ju Yeon, joins Jaejoong. With a rich portfolio of historical and modern dramas, such as “Doctor Stranger,” “Flowers of the Prison,” and “Grand Prince,” Jin Se Yeon is set to captivate audiences once again.
Her character, Ju Yeon, is a perfectionist with a cold exterior, often referred to as the “ice princess.” However, beneath this facade lies a woman who is awkward at expressing her feelings due to a painful past.
Lee Jong Won, known for his roles in “Knight Flower,” “The Golden Spoon,” and “Hospital Playlist Season 2,” plays Lee Shin, Lee Goon’s younger brother and the world’s top-ranked tennis player.
Yang Hye Ji rounds out the main cast as Jeon Sae Yan, Lee Shin’s interpreter. Her lovable personality and previous performances in “Wonderful World” and “Revenant” have already won her a Newcomer Award at the 2023 SBS Drama Awards.
“Bad Memory Eraser” is a story of self-discovery and redemption. In addition to being Jaejoong’s comeback, the series features a strong ensemble of actors who should provide captivating performances.
